Nearly 125 runners and walkers participated in the District of Columbia Housing Authority’s second annual 5K Run.
The 5K Run, which benefits the agency’s Season of Giving, was held in Rock Creek Park on October 26.
“This run was a great success. Not only did we all get exercise, but we contributed to purchasing warm coats for DCHA youth, providing holiday meals to seniors and veterans, and all of the books and gifts that the agency needs for its annual Season of Giving celebrations,” said DCHA Executive Director Tyrone Garrett. “Thank you all—the runners, the walkers, and our community partners—for your continued support.”
While all of the participants did a great job, six runners were honored for having the fastest times. They are John Reddick, Neil Albert, Marcus Manning, Solveig Svensson-Piavent, Hanna Koerner, and Cass Priol.
The non-profit arm of DCHA, Community Vision Inc., was the official host of the 5K and the Season of Giving. For more information or to make a donation, call (202) 535-1517.
